Sometimes we need to be with other people for a course or training. This can be hard for everyone because no one knows each other. What usually can happen on the first day is that you might be asked to tell everyone your name. This is called introducing yourself. "Hello my name is .......(your name)".
The leader will then talk about what you will be doing and when. If at any time you don't understand what is happening, it is important to try and remember to say this to the tutor after they have finished talking. Usually when people have a question they put up their hand and wait for the person in charge to say "yes".
When you are with a group of new people, most people begin to make friends with the others at morning teas and lunch times. This might be a good time to ask some people if you can sit with them while they are eating and talk with them.
