Tautoko Services Resource Books.

The Kiwi Social Skills books contain stories around common challenging social issues.

Surviving Social Situations has been written for use by whanau, families, careers, education staff, vocational and supported living staff as a resource to assist the development of individual social guides that demystify and enhance social situations. It can also be used as a guide when discussing with an individual what might happen in a social situation. This 72 page resource is a collection of information which has been developed by Tautoko Services staff who have been assisting people with Autistic Spectrum disorders and people with an intellectual disability to survive some of the complexities that life throws at us in situations where we have to interact with others socially.

About Me  We have found that at times to assist a person to manage their behaviour, it helps the person to understand more about themselves. what they like, what they enjoy doing and who they are. This workbook was created to help people understand themselves better.

Transition  this resource has been developed as a tool for families to use when their child transitions away from home to a community residential home/flat or supported living. Also for families that may have a new respite caregiver or support worker. It is not exhaustive in all the areas it covers, but is a guide for people umfamiliar with your child/adult as to how to best support him/her.

Making a Friend and Being a Friend this book is full of ideas about what things you can do to make a friend and things that you can do to be a friend. It is designed to be read with a support person who might help you make a plan and put some of these ideas into action.

David Lindsay

Restricted Movement Clothing Collection

“What makes these clothes so special, they don’t look any different?” A question often asked and one I love to hear! says Sally Aydon registered nurse, owner and designer of David Lindsay clothing range.
The range has been designed to suit people with restricted movement. The garments have been designed to look like regular clothes with adaptations to make it easier for those dressing themselves, without changing the overall look. And for those needing to be dressed by others the clothes go on simply and look great.
The range is available in daywear, nightwear and under garments for both men and women.
