I had always been a very independent hardworking man, a good pastry chef in a bakery in Motueka. Life was good. In one day life changed, I felt weak and but still got on my bike and went off to work.
We completed an adult sensory assessment with a mother of four who had returned to university to study. Her children had been identified as having sensory processing difficulties, this made her think about her own difficulties with adjusting to life at uni and decided a sensory assessment would be a good place to start.
Just Zilch rescues surplus goods from various suppliers and makes them available to those who determine themselves to be in need. Just Zilch works alongside other organisations in Palmerston North to ensure that the surplus food is been accessed and redistributed appropriately so that it is going to the right places.
From attending the weekly GRx classes in Levin, Cassandra has truly blossomed and she has given everything ago with a smile. “I am now more conscious of wanting to be more active and my support person Gaylyn has been helping me to set new challenges and getting me along to lots of events."
Project Goal: To encourage businesses in Palmerston North to welcome the talents and contributions that people living with disability bring to the workplace.
On the 1st July 2014 Options in Community Living merged with Tautoko Services. But the relationship goes back much further than this. Options and Tautoko Services/Neighbourhood Connections had enjoyed working together for a number of years, meeting regularly and sharing training applications.
